Why QoS Anyhow?
Assumption of 2 types of applications:
- elastic (adapt to available resources)
- guaranteed/in-elastic (non-adaptable)
Service provided
- elastic apps are usually ok with best-effort service model
- in-elastic apps may be unusable if not given enough bandwidth or too high delay (audio)
